Wellness Programs

RBOI partners with area Wellness Programs to help you, your family, and caregivers improve quality of life during and after cancer treatment. Some programs are given at our facilities, while others take place elsewhere in our area. All of RBOI’s support groups and programs are available to cancer survivors.

You can help increase your independence and quality of life by taking action to live as healthy as you can following a diagnosis of cancer. Below are resources for the three top interventions to lower your risk of future cancers and increase your health.

Healthy Eating

Exercise

The Florida Department of Health in Marion County offers ongoing fitness and health programs. Call 352-629-0137 for additional information or visit their website, http://marion.floridahealth.gov/.

SilverSneakers is a fitness program for seniors that’s included with many Medicare Advantage plans.

Livestrong at the YMCA is a research-based physical activity and well-being program for people who have or had cancer and their families. It is designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health.

Tobacco Cessation

Tobacco Free Florida offers various quit tools along with Phone Quit, Group Quit, and Web Quit programs.
